Meanwhile.Privacy

What we keep.

Meanwhile stores the photos you shoot on a day, the names of the people in it, and enough about you to sign you in and buzz you on the hour. Nothing else. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking across other apps or sites.

Last changed 15 September 2026. Meanwhile is made and sold by MOJE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, number 16379953, at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. Questions and complaints go to hello@meanwhile.pics, or to that address. MOJE LTD is the data controller.

Your account

Signing in with an email address stores that address and a code sent to it. Signing in with Apple stores the identity Apple gives us, which is your email address or a private relay address if you chose to hide it. Sign-in is run for us by Clerk.

You choose a name. It is printed on your panels, shown to the people in your day, and on anything you have printed. Pick one you are happy to see on a poster.

Your photos

A photo is shrunk on your phone and sent straight to storage at Cloudflare. It is shown to the people in your day at the reveal, and used to make that day's video, slides, poster and flipbook. Nobody outside the day sees it unless someone in the day turns the day page on, which makes the reveal open to anyone with the link, until it is turned off again.

The app does not read your camera roll. It only takes the photo you shoot when the hour comes.

The hour

To know which hour it is where you are, the app keeps your time zone and the quiet hours you set. The hourly buzz is scheduled on your phone. Two notifications come from our server, someone joining and your day being ready, and for those we keep a push token for your phone, or a push subscription for your browser if you asked for it there. Both go when you sign out or delete the account.

Guests

Someone joining from the link in a browser gives a name and nothing else. Their browser holds a token that is their key to that one day. Their photos are part of the day and live as long as it does.

Buying a print

Payment is taken by Stripe. Your card never reaches us; we keep the order, what it was and where it was going. Your name and address go to Prodigi, who print and post it. For the pair, the second address is asked for from the other person and goes the same way.

How long

Days are kept while your account exists. Delete the account in Settings and every day you made goes entirely, your panels go from other people's days, and then the account. That includes every photo and every render, and there is no undo. Orders are kept for as long as the law asks us to keep records of a sale.

Who runs what

Clerk for sign-in. Cloudflare for photo storage and the domain. Railway and Neon for the server and the database. Vercel for this site. Expo for push notifications. Stripe for payment. Prodigi for printing. Each of them holds only what its job needs.

Your rights

You can see everything we hold about you in the app, change your name in Settings, and delete all of it there. For anything else, or to complain, write to hello@meanwhile.pics. If you are in the UK or the EU you also have the right to take a complaint to your data protection authority.

Meanwhile is not for anyone under 13.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app tells you the next time you open it.
